SMALL LUMINAIRE DIMENSIONS Small luminaires appear unobtrusive and direct the focus onto the light. Small luminaire dimensions are convenient particularly in compact spaces. SUITABLE FOR WORKPLACES ERCO develops luminaires on the premise of efficient glare control and high visual comfort. UGR values are provided as an orientation around the current standards. The lighting design particularly for downlights, however, should be based on the individual arrangement of the luminaires in the room rather than on standard values. DECORATIVE LUMINAIRE TRIM The translucent ring of the Starpoint creates a fascinating light effect. The Starpoint surface-mounted downlight combines the design principles of "ambient luminescence" and "play of brilliants" coined by Richard Kelly. The light beam provides efficient ambient lighting. Using the wide light distribution, it illuminates large areas, whereas the oval version marks out pathways. The luminaire cover with its strikingly illuminated ring creates an effective eye-catcher. The translucent element, which is visible only when illuminated, makes for a subtle decorative detail in the ceiling - ideal for hotels, bars and restaurants. A chrome version adds a touch of mid-century glamour and lends itself to combination with rough materials such as wood or natural stone, thereby creating a compelling contrast. LUMINAIRE ARRANGEMENT SURFACE-MOUNTED DOWNLIGHTS For uniform ambient lighting, the spacing (d) between two Starpoint surface-mounted downlights may be up to approximately 1.25 times the height (h) of the luminaire above the working plane. ARRANGEMENT d ≤ 1.25 x h The wall offset should be half the luminaire spacing. ARRANGEMENT a = d / 2
