Organized in 1986, Acme Manufacturing Company has been operated by current ownership since 1992. Previously known as The SteelWorks Corporation, the company changed its name to Acme Manufacturing Company in January, 2006. Originally, The SteelWorks Corporation was exclusively a manufacturer and distributor of metal shapes for do-it-yourselfers to the retail hardware trade.
Today, Acme manufactures perforated angle and struts for the garage door industry; and lawn edging, stakes, staples and pins for the landscape industry through its GarageWorks and Lawn Edging divisions.
In 2001, Acme acquired Nostalgic Warehouse Co., Inc., a supplier of vintage-style door hardware to the “home restoration” market. As a complement to the restoration line, in 2005, Nostalgic Warehouse launched Grandeur, a high-end line of decorative door hardware targeted to the custom home builder.
In June of 2006, the company acquired Perfection Chain Products Co., Inc., of Vinemont, Alabama. Perfection Chain is a manufacturer of weldless chain used in a variety of applications in the electrical, plumbing, store fixtures and swingset industries. Perfection Chain operates out of a 75,000 sq. ft. manufacturing/distribution facility in Vinemont, Alabama.
In June of 2010 Acme formed All America Threaded Products by combining the operations of six recent acquisitions made in the threaded products industry. All America Threaded Products manufactures a wide variety of threaded products including threaded rod, studs, anchor bolts, u-bolts, coupling nuts, and threaded products "specials" used for various applications in numerous industries.
All America is headquartered at the Rocky Mountain Division, located at the Acme facility in Denver, Colorado. All America has two additional facilities, the Midwest Division, a 120,000 sq. ft. facility in Indianapolis, Indiana and the Mid-Atlantic Division a 97,000 sq. ft. facility in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Acme’s headquarters, administrative offices, and primary manufacturing and distribution facilities are located in a 160,000 sq. ft. facility at 4661 Monaco Street, Denver, Colorado. Nostalgic Warehouse, including Grandeur, operates out of an adjacent facility at 4609 Monaco Street, Denver, Colorado.
